ILM #008: Only One Path is the Right Path to Truth

Today in our Inspired Leadership Minute I want us to look at Proverbs 16:25, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.”

Proverbs 16:25 repeats Proverbs 14:12. The repetition underscores its importance. What does it mean, “there is a way that seems right”? This proverb is addressing the most important question of life, and that is in regards to obtaining eternal life.

A man, from his own point of view, thinks the path he is on is right. But, in the end, the path he thought was right turns out to lead only to death, not eternal life.

What is the lesson for us as leaders today?

Men have convinced themselves that there are many paths to eternal life. All of the world’s religions describe a path to eternal life. They seem right to man, but only one leads to eternal life. Jesus told the disciples in John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Jesus is the one and only Son of God who lived a sinless life, who died a tortuous death on the cross to pay for our sins, who rose again and now sits at the right hand of God the Father is the one true path to enteral life.

John wrote in 3:36, “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on them.” Belief in Jesus is the true path to eternal life.”
